On Morning Joe, Al Sharpton debated the merits of the President’s new mandate requiring religious organizations to fully cover birth control insurance for female employees. Critics of the President’s decision said that the rule violates basic Catholic freedoms. Sharpton said that the law would allow for people who are not necessarily Catholic to be protected according to separation of church and state, regardless of whether the work for a Catholic institution.
