With the delay and push back of his release, 50 Cent has decided to retool his upcoming new album “Before I Self Destruct.” Talking to MTV, the G-Unit general said “It’s about 30 percent of what I had when I felt I was finished. The production [changed.] A lot of it [Dr.] Dre made a lot more of the music that’s on the actual album and I re-wrote some concepts ’cause to me sometimes, it would sound like I’m absolutely out my mind if I play you the music. It gets dated because I’ve been playing it to myself for so long that I’m no longer as excited as I was for the first time, so I’m making new material and adding it to the actual project. I’ve been conceptually doing some things that directly apply to the initial concept of Before I Self Destruct and I wrote, produced and directed my first screen play. It’ll actually be in the album packaging.” In related news 50 Cent went on to talk about his upcoming film “Twelve” and his co-star Chance Crawford (of “Gossip Girl”). “I got a chance to see it,” 50 said of the teen show. “It’s cool just to be in the presence of talented artists,” added the rapper, who plays Harlem drug dealer Lionel in the flick, which is expected to be released in the winter of 2010. “It’s an interesting character. The dynamics are kind of exciting.” The new movie also stars Kiefer Sutherland, Emma Roberts and Ellen Barkin.
