New Aaliyah Movie Coming Out!!! Staring Keisha Chante!!
Canadian(Ontario)-born R&B singer Keisha Chante has been confirmed to play Aaliyah in a much-anticipated biopic set for release next year.
According to the National Post, the ink is dry on Chante’s contract to portray the R&B singer in the as-yet-titled biopic.
Chronicling the life of the R&B star that brought magic to both the screen and the studio, Aaliyah’s biopic will attempt to cover the singer’s journey up to her untimely death in 2001.
Chante, a successful R&B singer who released “2U” in 2006, will also star in a new television series entitled “Soul,” set to hit the ‘small screen’ early 2009.
The “Get To Know You” singer is also plotting the release of her third studio album due next year.
While a release date has not been set, the Aaliyah biopic is rumored to be hitting theaters mid-2009.
there’s similarities between aaliyah and keisha chante. I think she would be a good assest to this movie.
When i heard that their maybe a possible movie in the works about aaliyah. I was so concerned with who could portray her. Now that i have seen the chosen one! What a remarkable choice. I think there are alot of similarities between Keisha Chante and Aaliyah..Ciara and Ashanti have NO TYPE of resemblance to her..and I am glad that they finally are trying to get this movie in the works. They did it for Left Eye, 2pac, Biggie, and Jam Master Jay..they needed to put one out on Aaliyah. And I can’t wait. I think Keisha is going to do a good job..but anyways Ashanti looks nothing like Aaliyah no facial resemblance and she isn’t of the build, and she can’t dance and sing like Aaliyah. Even if they put make up on her or something, she still wouldn’t look like her. Keisha is almost like her lil’ sister! And it’s cool. So I hope she plays the part well, and I hope this movie turns out to be great. I’m a fan of Aaliyah and Keisha so more power to her. RIP to Aaliyah

I think they casted the right girl, way before I heard there was gonna be a movie I though keisha would be some one who could play aaliyah, because she has similar features and if you have seen her 2u video you would know what I mean if you haven’t check it out. Also I watch a video of her during a photo shoot and her mannerism is very similar too how aaliyah use to joke around & every thing. she also a performer so she will know how to work a stage when it comes to shooting the performance parts only thing is I don’t know how good a actress she is but this would be a big role for her so I’m hoping she will put her all into it, hopefully show the word what us the fans already knew about aaaliyah & her music.

at first i wasnt happy that keisha was picked for the part of aaliyah, but there are some similarities and she isnt that big. i wanted a nobody to play her, something like the role of ‘precious’ if aaliyah was played by ciara or ashanti it would be a sit show.
