Reports from the New York Times say that NBC and Ann Curry have been discussing a transitional plan to kick Ann out of the TODAY show role she’s currently doing. Curry, who succeeded Meredith Viera as co-host with Matt Lauer after 14 years as a newsreader and other roles on the show, has been the blame for Today’s ratings drop. Lack of chemistry with Lauer has fans and media blaming her and tuning into GMA, which won a week in ratings against Today for the first time in 17 years. No official word on this has been announced by Curry or NBC yet, as NYT also reports this has been an ongoing secret discussion and the network is trying to find another role for her. There were earlier rumors that Lauer wanted her out or he wouldn’t sign a new contract. Matt did sign a new contract with Today in April for a few more years, so the timing on this seems very interesttttinggg. Will you miss Ann Curry? Do you like her as co-host?
