Jimmy Kimmel and Tracy Morgan lit up Twitter to the tune of 25,000 instant tweets when they pulled their gag on the Emmy stage last night.

The host asked Emmy viewers to “play a prank on the people who are not watching the Emmys right now” and invited Morgan to come on the stage and pretend to be passed out.

“Okay, hold my nunchucks,” Morgan gamely said as he took out actual nunchucks from his sequined tuxedo coat before lying the stage.

Kimmel then suggested that viewers tweet “OMG Tracy Morgan just passed out on stage! Turn on ABC now” to help boost ratings for the show, and to trick Twitter users who weren’t watching the broadcast.

The stunt caused an immediate 25K reactions on the micro-blogging site. "OMG 25,000 tweets instantly thanks to OMG Tracy Morgan Emmys," Twitter TV announced. "Thanks Jimmy Kimmel!"

The “30 Rock” comedian remained on the floor during the entire commercial break. “Nashville” stars Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere played along as they stepped over Morgan as they presented the next award.

When Morgan was dragged off the stage, he wailed, “Tell Kerry Washington I’m alright!”
